The Des Moines Register reports Iowa agriculture officials have discovered the beetle in both Greene and Wayne Counties.

This makes 43 different Iowa counties that the insect has been confirmed in.

Trees infected with the insect generally lose their leaves at the top and the die-off spreads downward. Once infected, the trees can die within two to four years.
